Lebanon's
banknotes, both in paper and coin formats, have changed over the years. Many
of us can't remember what the old ones used to look like, while others
might not have had the opportunity to see the new ones yet. Therefore, this
page serves as an informative showcase for all.
The Lebanese Pound, or as locally referred
to, the "lira", is abbreviated as LL (Livre Libanaise)
or LBP (Lebanese Pound). The terms livre (French), pound (English),
and lira (Arabic) are used interchangeably.
